Description
This branch of the PR TF 70 trail starts in an area known as Llano del Negro or Tumba del Negro.
You will notice that there is a track close to your left, but the footpath cuts straight across it at several points. At several points along the way, you will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the mountains of Isora, and even as far as the islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro.
As you continue your descent, the pine forest gradually clears and gives way to other species of vegetation such as tagasaste and codeso.
Once you rejoin the track, you will come to a two-way crossing. Turn right (turning left takes you in the direction of Adeje). Continue along this track until you come to another footpath on the right. Take this path and continue down it.
Shortly before you reach the hamlet of Las Fuentes, you will come to Los Poleos, an old traditional house with small chicken and goat pens.
From this point onwards, the route follows what used to be an old bridle path: it is wider with high walls on the sides. The trail then forks into two paths that will take you to Las Fuentes, a mythical hamlet that was abandoned in the 1970s but which has now recovered some of its farming traditions.
Tips
- Always stay on the marked trail and do not enter private property, hunting grounds, water galleries, wells or caves.
- Pay special attention when crossing or walking along trails used by bicycles, horses or motor vehicles and when walking in ravines with water courses.
- Avoid direct encounters with potentially dangerous animals, such as livestock, beehives, and dogs.
- Proceed with caution and watch for obstacles, loose rocks, uneven terrain or steep slopes to avoid accidents and falls.
