Macizo de Anaga

Difficulty: Medium

Description

The route begins with some steps that lead up into the laurel forest, from El Bailadero, opposite the Rosa Sosa rest area.

You will soon reach a concrete wall. Follow this wall until you reach a clearing. The path in front of you will take you into La Fuentecilla.

The trail from here continues zigzagging downwards, revealing magnificent views of the hamlets of Taganana among the laurel forest.

The now unsurfaced path leads down to the exit of the road tunnel. Here you must pay special attention until you reach La Quebrada, as there is a steep drop off the side of the path.

Follow the track until you reach a pass with views of the Roques de Anaga and continue descending from there to the village of Taganana, the largest settlement within the Anaga Rural Park and where the route ends.

Tips

  • Always stay on the marked trail and do not enter private property, hunting grounds, water galleries, wells or caves.
  • Pay special attention when crossing or walking along trails used by bicycles, horses or motor vehicles and when walking in ravines with water courses.
  • Avoid direct encounters with potentially dangerous animals, such as livestock, beehives, and dogs.
  • Proceed with caution and watch for obstacles, loose rocks, uneven terrain or steep slopes to avoid accidents and falls.
  • Check out our guide to hiking in Tenerife and, if necessary, contact the emergency services by calling 112.
