Barranco de Fuente Pedro Campsite for tents

Camping area, Barranco de Vergara, San Juan de la Rambla

Capacity

150 Places

Description

The Barranco de Fuente Pedro campsite is surrounded by pristine Canary Island pine forest at an altitude of over 1,300 m above sea level.

Here you can admire pine trees so big that they even have their own name, such as Pino de los Tres Hermanos or Pino del Ventilador, as you stroll through a forest filled with the sound of chaffinches and other songbirds, or the tapping of the woodpeckers on the oldest trunks.

In addition to the great diversity of wildlife, this natural setting also introduces you to other aspects of the island’s geography, such as its geology, climate and human activity over the course of history.

The Canal de Vergara, a water infrastructure that runs very close to this camping area, is a clear example of human intervention in the area.

Tips

  • Enjoy the local plant and animal life without disturbing it. Be curious but from a safe and respectful distance.
  • Follow the rules and instructions on the signs to avoid disturbance to people and animals.
  • Keep the environment clean and leave no litter behind. Rubbish and cigarette butts must be disposed of in the designated containers.
  • Travel in small groups to keep noise pollution and the impact on the environment to a minimum.
  • Use the water in the toilets and taps responsibly. Water is a scarce and precious commodity on our island.
