According to the Master Plan for Use and Management of Teide National Park, camping is strictly prohibited—whether in tents, caravans, or vehicles—so no permits are issued for this activity.
However, bivouacking (sleeping outdoors without a tent) is allowed only in the four designated areas and always with prior authorization.
What is bivouacking?
Sleeping or resting outdoors at night, with or without simple shelter such as a sleeping bag, bivy sack, or other items that do not alter the natural environment.
Authorized bivouac areas:
- 📍 Teide Bivouac Zone
- 📍 Montaña Blanca Bivouac Zone
- 📍 Pico Viejo Bivouac Zone
- 📍 Montaña Guajara Bivouac Zone
Applications are submitted on the page for each facility in Tenerife ON, under “Availability and permits.”
